Marina Diamandis was born in Abergavenny, Wales to a Greek father and Welsh mother and raised in the village of Pandy. Diamandis’ musical style ranges from keyboard-based ballads to more up-tempo new wave-style songs with full band backing. She has cited a wide-range of influences such as Daniel Johnston, Blondie, The Distillers, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Nirvana, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey, Yann Tiersen, Elliott Smith, Dolly Parton and Madonna. In cooperation with the C-U Folk & Roots Festival, Heartland Gallery will co-sponsor a performance by Welsh folksinger/songwriter David Llewellyn September 23rd from 6-7:45pm for a mini Welsh celebrati…on, featuring Welsh refreshments and plenty of Welsh art & craft items for sale. Niall currently lives in Penrhyncoch (just outside of Aberystwyth) and has written 9 books to date including – Grits, Wreckage, Real Aberystwyth & Ten Pound Pom.
